ERFC Former 1st XV Captain

We are sad to report that Nick Tuckett has sadly passed away.

Nick played rugby with a mighty heart and physical presence on the field. He was 1st XV Captain during two seasons 1994 to 1996, a cracking scrum half he would lead from the front on every occasion. Off field, Nick was great fun to be with, especially for a jar or two.

On behalf of EXMOUTH RFC, we send our heartfelt condolences to Nick’s whole family, wife Sally, children Jaz and Ty with partners and grandchildren. Also his many friends and family, we know Nick will be sorely missed.

The funeral will be held on Thursday 7th September at 2.30 pm, at Exeter Crematorium. Then return to Exmouth Rugby Club.

At the family request please. No black, no suit trousers (Nick didn’t own a pair), he was always in shorts. Casual trousers, jeans are fine. Please keep it casual.

I had the pleasure of playing alongside Nick for a large number of years. He was one of life’s true gentlemen, a fabulous rugby player and great company, home or away. Nick had a bullet pass that could fly across half the width of the pitch and he tackled so hard, the opposition were always a little slow to get to their feet. Nick had the respect of many across our rugby family. A great person to spend time with for a chat. Always a COCKLE.

Thank you

Ian
