With many games cancelled again for the Exmouth rugby junior section, the U15’s were lucky to travel to Crediton for a hard fought and decidedly muddy encounter. Mike Loaring deputised for Tony Emmins and Andy Lendon who were still drowning their sorrows after a poor England rugby performance the day before. All the coaching team would have been delighted with the youngster’s competitive nature in atrocious conditions underfoot. Not so much a running game, more of a wallowing experience.
The eventual result was never in doubt and the Cockles ran out 45-0 winners. As the supporters could not see the try lines or any of the pitch lines to be fair, they had to assume the referee had a better view of the action.
