With only 1 game played since 8th December 2012 due to poor weather, Exmouth U15’s finally got back to action this weekend. They travelled the short distance to Exeter Saracens for a rescheduled Devon U15 Plate game. In emphatic style the young Cockles stole the show scoring 9 unanswered tries with 4 conversions off the boot of George Mears. Mears scored one try with others from Connor MacDonald (4), Jake Williamson, Alec Larsson-Carter, skipper Joe Harris and the pick of the bunch from Keenan Paver who showed extreme pace and determination to outrun several defenders from just inside the Sarries half. In truth this was a great team performance from an outfit that could have been a bit rusty but had trained hard during their wait for a run out. The Exmouth forwards dominated at scrum time over a large, heavy Sarries pack. This was the platform that the Exmouth backs needed to strike at every opportunity. Exeter Saracens did play their part in an entertaining game and did come close on a couple of occasions. The Exmouth defense stepped up for a shut out. A 53-0 scoreline was down to a fine display from all the Exmouth players working together as a tight team.
