In the first match Okehampton were quick off the mark with some fast opening play. The visitors quickly notched up a 3 try advantage over Exmouth. The Exmouth side fought back with James McOwan again adding to his tally of tries from last week by scoring 2 tries in the first half for Exmouth.
Cameron Bennett also picked up a brace of tries for the hosts.
Additional tries were scored by Ollie Jones (2) and Harry Sprague who charged straight through the Okehampton defence to score.
The visitors, proving to be tough opposition, fought back to finally overcome Exmouth by 14 tries to 7.
The second match was a much closer contest with Exmouth leading for most of the play. After some great forward runs Owen Tidball scored a hat trick of tries in quick succession for the Cockles.

Arron Lee was really ‘fired up’ for the Exmouth side and scored a brace of tries – the second one after a full run of half of the pitch.
The Okehampton side came back at Exmouth; However Eddie Ford showed his strong defensive skills and helped prevent the Okehampton side from scoring further. Ford also displayed the attacking aspects of his play by scoring 2 second half tries for the hosts.
In the final 5 minutes Callum Wilmott scored twice for Exmouth by running head down straight through to the try line. A bonus try was also picked up by Max Handford for the Cockles.
The final score was 12 tries to 11 in Okehampton’s favour, however Exmouth can be proud of their great team performance, which continues to build from strength to strength.
The young Cockles can now look forward to their next home match, which is against Honiton in a week’s time.
