Exmouth 51 - 0 Tiverton
Exmouth travelled to Tiverton on Sunday, and the team turned out a solid performance from a well drilled squad in difficult conditions. The Exmouth forwards were in good form from the start, with the pack working as a cohesive unit, which provided a good quality source of possession from all tight and loose phases of the game, which allowed for a series combined forwards and backs attacking moves.
The Exmouth back row of C. McAdam, S. Hartery and A. Conway applied pressure through out the game which kept Tiverton on the back foot. The first half saw Exmouth enter half time 26 points ahead, through try's from S. Hartery (2 number), L. Watkins, E. Rice, with three conversions by stand off B. Nilelson.
The second half saw the Exmouth team continue with the same spirited performance with L. Watkins continuing to "snipe" from the breakdowns where ever possible, and releasing the backs. The positive attacking rugby played by Exmouth saw a further five try's scored by A. Conway, L. Watkins, O. Howard, S. Hartery and D. Hall.
In summary a very good confidence building performance leading into next weeks cup tie against Exeter Chiefs.
Man of the match went to C. McAdam for his all round performance on the day.
