Great Torrington 0 - 74 Exmouth
This was the first meeting of these two teams and after seeing that Great Torrington beat Exeter Saracens 63 - 18 the Cockles went into this game with some trepidation. Fielding a much changed side there was stalemate for the first 15 minutes before Tom Parry touched down after a well driven maul by the forwards. It was then oneway traffic as Exmouth found their form and Torrington lost theirs from the previous week.
Try's followed from Ian Perkins (2), Dan McLeod (2), Glen Lawton (2), Joe Harnick (2) Keegan Ferraday, Tom Barnard and Ty Tuckett. Howard Smith converted 7 from 12.
The scores came from all parts of the pitch, from all positions and from a variety of tactics. This was a superb performance from this young team and to Torrington's credit they stuck to their defensive task with their heads held high.
Two new 'Man of the Match' awards were presented to Ty Tuckett and Dan McLeod in Memory of Auntie Sue Tuckett and Ken McLeod, Dans father. Both passed away recently. Too young and too soon. They will both be missed but always remembered and honoured.
