Exmouth 29 - 15 Brixham

I cannot imagine why any rugby match can be called a friendly, but there were no League points at stake here, just an opportunity to experiment with different combinations and different plays with nothing at stake apart from pride.

Exmouth started well. Dan Mcleod put Exmouth into a 5 metre lineout situation from a penalty kick and from the resulting line out drove the hefty Brixham pack to the try line before Jake  Gauntlet broke free and touched down.

Almost from the restart Brixham bounced back capitalising on poor defence to score wide out.  The Fishermen scored two further trys wide out. The first from a quickly taken penalty and the second from a centre good centre break.

Half time saw several changes in personel. Influential skipper Joe Parkin rallied the team and it was Exmouth who dominated from the restart, first from Ty Tuckett' fed from a beautiful break from McLeod. Andy Broadhurst converting.  Exmouths line out has been outstanding this season with Mark Roach dominating. It was from a catch and drive that Exmouth added further points. Scrum Half Parkin feeding Joe Harnick to crash over from close range.

The final try came from winger Glen Layton who easily beat his opposite number for speed after Tim Green broke through the Brixham defence.

Centre Tim Green and Luke Woodward earned the 'Man of the Match' awards for there efforts.
