Exmouth 29 - 5 Brixham

Saturday saw Exmouth Quins take on Brixham 2nds at home in their first league match of the new season which saw Exmouth come out clear winners by 29 point to 5.

The game started well for Exmouth, within 3 minutes of the kick off they scored their first try coming from scrum half Adam Garner and converted by Russ Coombes. As the game progressed the Exmouth forward became more dominant winning a large quantity of the break downs controlling the scrummages. The second try came from a powerful drive by the Exmouth forward when the scrum half Adam Garner broke blind fed full back Sean De loze with slick hands passed the ball to Brad Perkins who went over the try line to score. The final score of the first half came from Paul Flower who powered his way over the line from yet another well taken lineout by the forwards. Half time score Exmouth 17 - Brixham 0.

Exmouth started the second half much the same way they finished the first controlling most aspects the game in particular the scrums, Brixham couldn't handle the power of the forwards being pushed backwards in most off the scrums with the front row of Paul Flower, Roger Boult and Man of the Match Andy Lendon all putting in a very good performance.

Ten minutes into the second half Brad Perkins came up with his second try when he out stripped his opposite winger to sprint over the try line to score. Possibly the best try of the match came next when the forwards drove Brixham back towards their line with 8 phases of controlled pick and drives when the scrum half fed fly half Matt Ryan who dummied his opposite number stepped back inside and went over between the sticks to score the try with Adam Garner adding the conversion. Brixham got a consolation try just before the final whistle  to make the final score 29 points to 5 to Exmouth Quins.
