Topsham 5 - 50 Exmouth
Exmouth RFC Quins travelled to Topsham on Saturday to play Topsham first team prior to starting their league fixtures next Saturday and came away with a convincing win 50 points to 5.
The game started off well for Exmouth with in the first ten minutes they were 21 points to nil up with tries from Matt Ryan, Ollie Turton and Jack Downie, all three being converted by Jack Downie.
It took a further twenty minutes before the next score, when in the space of two minutes scrum half Matt Ryan went over for two tries the first from a kick a chase out of the Exmouth twenty two and the second from a well constructed forward drive from the half way line into the Topsham twenty two the ball was fed out to Jack Downie who broke through the Topsham line and fed Matt Ryan who went over for his third try, with one of the tries being converted by Jack Downie that gave a half time score line of Topsham nil Exmouth 33.
The second half was a more fiercely contested half but Topsham could not stop Exmouth running in a further three tries from Andy Kay, Jack Westlake and John Pinnie and one conversion from Ollie Turton.
Right on the stroke of full time Topsham scored with an unconverted try making the final score Topsham 1st team 5 Exmouth Quins 50.
