Sidmouth 7 - 28 Exmouth
The Exmouth Nomads travelled to Sidmouth on Saturday to play their third team and came away with a good win.
The Nomads started lively and after five minutes opened the scoring with a try by prop Mark Rowsell, unfortunately the kick was missed, five points to nil in Exmouth's favour. Play went from from end to end with the Exmouth forwards well on top, however a break away try by the Sidmouth fly half saw them go seven points to five in the lead. Just before the half time whistle Bungy Blyth sprinted over the Sidmouth try line to score once again the conversion was missed which put Exmouth in the lead at half time ten points to seven in front.
The second half started with the Nomads still dominating play and with in five minute were awarded a penalty which Ed Kirk converted. After continued pressure the Exmouth forwards scored a push over try with skipper Ian Urmstone taking the honours. Shortly after Simon Tate added his name to the score sheet with a try. Exmouth final score came from Dean Bywood when he finished off a good passage of play between the forwards and backs to go over for a try. The final score was Sidmouth thirds 7 Exmouth Nomads 28.
During the second half Exmouth made six changes which included a complete front row of youngster come on and acquitted themselves very well.
